ALBINI 1876 VIROFORMULA FABRICS FOR THE CAPSULE COLLECTION CREATED BY THE STUDENTS OF IED ROME

“Amabili resti” and “Ethereal heavy soul”, these are the names that Fashion Design students of IED Rome chose for their capsule collection.

A special partnership, the one between Albini 1876 and IED, that since the beginning has assumed the shape of an experiential and interactive campus in order to make the students know the different phases that come before the creation of a fabric. The study of what lays below the creation of a dress had the goal of making clearer the potentialities of the fabric, to better understand which aspects to emphasize and enhance in the making of a dress.

The two sartorial collections have been realized aiming at enhancing the unique antiviral characteristics and the performances of VIROFORMULA fabrics, coming from the continuous research of Albini. Those fabrics, that distinguish themselves thanks to the innovative technology that prevents the proliferation of virus and bacteria on the surface, have been declined in poplin and gabardine in white and navy blue tonalities.

We want to support and encourage young talents to follow their personal and professional goals. Thanks to the partnership between Albini and IED, the students had the chance to experience all the product’s aspects, by deepening the know-how, innovation and style behind a garment, starting from the research on the fabric. I’m sure that this experience will be very useful to their professional growth, and for us it’s a precious moment of confrontation with young designers, able to to enrich our view with surprising inspiration”.  – comments Gabriele Camozzi – Head of Marketing, Albini Group.

“Amabili resti”, created by Laura Finizio, Giulia Gagliardi, Ida Paliotta, Eugenio Speranza e John Rey Tiva, is a tribute to the nature in continuous rebirth and expansion, and it stands as a metaphore of what humanity should do in such an historical period.

“Ethereal heavy soul” ideated by Nicolò Artibani, Floriana Carannante, Maria Giuseppina Cuguttu, Eleonora Pignata e Gianluca Zumbolo on the other hand stands as a revolutionary capsule that wants to distort garments’ lines through curls, exceeding fabric and pleats, without making the garment lose its ease.

The two capsule collections are now exhibited in Albini Showroom in Milan until 20th December.
