Albini Group becomes contributor of ZDHC

Albini Group announces that it is officially contributor of the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) program, the Amsterdam-based Not-for-Profit Association which aims to protect the health and the environment of consumers, workers and the territory, thanks to a chemical management system inside and outside the companies operating in the textile and fashion sector.

In particular, the company has adhered to the Zero Program Roadmap which requires avoiding highly polluting materials and implementing sustainable wastewater treatment systems. A commitment that goes even beyond compliance with regulations and that places important improvement objectives for the elimination of harmful substances from the production cycle, thanks also to the mapping of suppliers. Along with the Albini Group, another 107 international companies are part of ZDHC, including the Kering Group, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Levi Strauss & Co., G-Star Raw and many others.

“We are proud to be part of an association that, like us, is deeply committed to sustainability” – says Stefano Albini, President of the Albini Group. “For the first time in our country, together with the other companies involved, we have created a benchmark with the aim of achieving a shared harmonisation of the system, an approved and sustainable regulation on the use of chemical products and the management of their impact upon the environment. An excellent demonstration of how teamwork can transform into concrete and feasible action, that which has always been purely aspirational”.
