Albini Group is a proud partner of The Egyptian Cotton Project implemented by Filmar and UNIDO, which aims to enhance the sustainability and inclusiveness of the cotton value chain in Egypt by improving the economic, social and environmental performance of cotton growers and processors and strengthening support institutions.

In October, during the Cotton Harvest Event in Kafr el-Sheikh, we celebrated the successful harvest of organic and non-contaminated long-staple and extra-long staple Egyptian cotton, cultivated according to the Better Cotton Initiative standards.

The harvest celebration brought together Egyptian farmers, international fashion brands, various actors of the textile sector and key government representatives, to promote a transparent and traceable cotton supply chain.

The cotton producers and traders involved in the initiative have embraced the challenge of sustainability, adopting innovative agricultural techniques, best practices to reduce the risk of contamination, zero tolerance for child labour and guarantee total traceability of the fibres.
