Albini Group continuously invests in its industrial sites in order to create a more sustainable reality, while respecting the environment and the ecosystem.

To demonstrate the constant engagement in the improvement of the environmental performances, Cotonificio Albini S.P.A. obtained the ISO 14001:2015 Certification, internationally known as the reference standard for the environmental management systems.

The Certification has been delivered in 2018 to the production site in Brebbia, it has been reconfermed in 2021 along with the deliver of the Certification itself to the production site in Albino. In 2022 the Certification has been applied to all the industrial sites of the Company: Albino, Gandino, Brebbia.



The protection of the territory, the replacement of equipment with the latest technology, the use of environmentally friendly production processes and alternative sources of energy are just some of the objectives already achieved by the company.

The Albini Group’s commitment to the use of renewable energy has seen the installation of three photovoltaic plants and a wind farm in the factories of Mottola and Brebbia, and three hydroelectric plants, including two hydraulic augers in Besozzo and Brebbia and a Kaplan turbine at the plant in Albino.

In the various national and international establishments of the Albini Group, the interventions to improve energy efficiency resulted in an annual saving of over 2,300 TOE (tonnes of oil equivalent) and 1.3 million cubic meters of methane.

> Replacing lighting systems with LED: 70 TEP / year saved
Temperature and humidity control system: 450 TEP / year saved
> Cogeneration systems, plumbing, and for the frequency regulation systems for electric motors: 800 TEP / year saved


Notwithstanding the growth in production, the reduction of energy consumption and the replacement of equipment made it possible to contain water consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. In the factory in Brebbia, a purifier treats all the discharges of the production machines in order to respect the limits imposed by environmental regulations (Legislative Decree 152/2006).
