Albini Group achieves ISO 56001 Certification

Albini Group officially joins the elite of international organisations that have adopted a structured and certified innovation management system, having achieved the prestigious ISO 56001 certification. This milestone confirms the Group’s pioneering vision in rethinking the textile supply chain through advanced research, new technologies and a systemic approach to sustainability.

ISO 56001 is the international standard dedicated to innovation management systems, defining the requirements for transforming innovation from an occasional activity into a strategic, governed and measurable process capable of generating continuous value over time. The standard integrates governance, planning, performance measurement, risk management, skills development and effectiveness monitoring, enabling organisations to enhance their adaptability, anticipate change and reduce uncertainty in innovation projects.

The achievement of this certification places Albini Group among the first companies worldwide—and among the very first in the textile sector—to fully adopt this standard, demonstrating a concrete commitment to responsible, verifiable innovation aligned with the highest global benchmarks. In a rapidly evolving competitive landscape, the certification strengthens the Group’s credibility with customers, partners, institutions and stakeholders, attesting to the robustness of its approach and its ability to generate high-impact projects on an ongoing basis.

“ISO 56001 must be—and at Albini Group it has been—a key instrument for the company’s innovation governance to engage with an internationally recognised framework, as well as a formal and ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, for the benefit of all stakeholders,” says Flavio Ubezio, President of the Italian Innovation Manager Association.

This achievement has also been made possible thanks to the work of the research platform ALBINI_next, the laboratory dedicated to sustainable innovation, whose projects actively involve the Group’s entire supply chain. With the attainment of ISO 56001, Albini Group demonstrates how innovation and sustainability are strategic pillars of the textile supply chain, developed through the creation of new materials and next-generation technologies aimed at industrial symbiosis and the enhancement of performance, quality and sustainability.

With this certification, Albini Group joins a still limited number of organisations worldwide that have chosen to adopt the ISO 56001 standard, including research centres, industrial companies and technology groups pioneering innovation management.

“This recognition is not an endpoint, but a starting point,” says Stefano Albini, President of Albini. “ISO 56001 confirms our commitment to making innovation a strategic, governed and measurable asset, capable of guiding us towards new frontiers in textiles and sustainability. Albini Group will continue to invest in research and collaboration to build a more responsible, competitive and quality-driven industrial future.”

With the achievement of ISO 56001, Albini Group further strengthens its leadership in the textile sector, consolidating a model of open and sustainable innovation that looks to the future of fashion, industry and applied research.
