Albini Group participates in the RIGENER-AM project

Albini Group is a partner in RIGENER-AM, a Research & Development project focused on regenerating metallic and textile industrial waste into innovative, high value-added materials for Additive Manufacturing (industrial 3D printing).
The project is supported by ESIF Funds and co-funded by the European Union and Regione Lombardia.

The project

RIGENER-AM was created to promote an advanced model of circular economy applied to manufacturing. Through regeneration processes, industrial waste is transformed into new metal alloys and polymer compounds with enhanced performance, reducing environmental impact while strengthening the competitiveness of Lombardy’s manufacturing sector.

The project combines materials research, computational design techniques, and functional and structural validation of the developed prototypes, with potential future applications in sectors such as aerospace, construction and sports.

Objectives

RIGENER-AM aims to:

  • Regenerate metallic and textile waste into advanced materials for industrial applications
  • Develop solutions with low environmental impact and high technological value
  • Integrate digital methodologies to optimise production processes
  • Validate new materials through functional and structural testing

Expected results

At the end of the project (November 2027), the following outcomes will be achieved:

  • New regenerated materials for Additive Manufacturing
  • Tested and validated functional prototypes
  • A methodological platform that can be replicated across other industrial sectors
